JACK PINE

real good tunes for real dark times

“...a dynamic alt-folk singer-songwriter hailing from the Ottawa-Gatineau region. Since inception in 2012, they have performed at both RBC Ottawa Bluesfest and CityFolk Festival to the delight of audiences and Jack Pine continues to grow his reach across the country and beyond. An excellent addition to a folk festival lineup!”

— Kelly Symes, RBC Bluesfest, CityFolk, Ontario Festival of Small Halls

Short Bio

Jack Pine’s namesake tree is the rising phoenix of a fiery forest. It’s no wonder this Juno and Canadian Folk Music Awards nominated singer-songwriter performs folk tunes full of grit and hope and smouldering intensity.  With lyrics that point to the beauty in the wreck and the heart of the wretch, Jack Pine can strum an audience into a frenzy. He howls and spits folk lyricism - at once biting and inspiring - while his amplified acoustic instruments play furiously, then softly. If you'd rather dance to mandolins and string bass, than drum machines and lasers, this bud's for you: National Capital Region alt-folk at its finest.
